Mommy's Little Helper

Jake is becoming quite the little helper. He wants to be involved in whatever it is I am doing; folding laundry, vacuuming, etc. Today, I was attempting to unload the dishwasher and of course my little helper had to get in on the action.

Here he is, 'helping'
Of course, to Jake, helping means taking the bottom rack completely OUT of the dishwasher

...and then carrying it all around the kitchen!

"Let me close that for you Mom...oh wait! I forgot!"

"I need to put this back before Mom notices."
"ummm...how do I get this back in?"
"Maybe if I lift it like this?"
"Or if I put the door like this?"
"Nevermind, I'm just going to close it and hope Mom doesn't notice."

"Now I need to hide this before Mom sees it."

"Pay no attention to the baby pushing the dishwasher rack!"

"I've got a great idea!"

"Mom! Daisy took the rack out of the dishwasher!"

Family Time

We got to spend some fun time together as a family on Monday! Those of you who are coaching families know how rare this is during football season! Jake had been sick all of last week and was FINALLY feeling better so we headed out for some fun times.

We ran to one of Jake's favorite stores, Sprouts, and picked up some groceries for the week. Jake didn't want to be inside of the cart, instead, he 'helped' me push the cart around the store. I didn't have my camera with me, but it was super cute!

After we got home and had a quick snack, we headed out to the playground at the park near our house. Jake was everywhere!
The animal wall
He was a huge fan of the slide
love this face!

His, 'more' sign
so, we spent a long time sliding
Working hard on sliding by himself
Still, wanting 'more' slide :)
Then Jake was off and discovered the crawling tunnel.

Daddy thought it was fun too.

Here's a video of Jake cruisin' the playground...it's hard to keep up with him these days!

On the way home, Jake wanted to 'help' push the stroller, just like he had 'helped' push the cart earlier in the day. It took us forver to get home, but he had so much fun!

Here's video

After dinner, we decided to go check out the new frozen yogurt shop that opened up near us. Jake has had ice cream a few times before so we thougth he would really like it. We got him his own spoon and he dug right in and started feeding himself, such a big boy!
yummmm!
Soon, my spoon got taken too, he was scooping yogurt with both spoons at the same time. I'd say he liked it!

We had such a great family day! It's so much fun to get out and do things with Jake now that he is into everything. We love watching him explore and try things for the first time, especially when we don't get to do it very often this time of year.
