Baby Shower Weekend

Most of you already know that the majority of my close friends are all pregnant right now. My two best friends, Seana and Misty, are both having baby girls in March. Since Misty lives in Louisiana, we decided to have hers and Seana's baby showers in the same weekend so that they could be at each others' shower.

Seana's shower was on Saturday, here she is with her hostesses: Leanne (who is due in May!), me, and Misty.
Misty's shower was on Sunday, here are the 3 besties at her shower
The highlight of the weekend though, was just getting to spend time together with the hubbies and babies! Misty is already the mommy to twin girls, Hannah and Hayley, who are 1 week younger than Jake. We don't get to see each other nearly as often as we would like to and it was a lot of fun to see the kids playing together.
Jake looks so 'thrilled' to be sharing his swings with his cousins.
Cecil Ray doing the 'everybody look this way' parent dance
Jake hit a big growth spurt just before Christmas...check out those long legs!
Hannah was trying to cheer Jake up.
Hayley was having lots of fun.
After they got tired of swings, the kids tried out the slide.

little Hayley was working on her landing skills :)
Hannah was a pro...watch out sister!
Jake showed them how it was done.
Hannah was super good at climbing back up the slide.
such a look of determination!Hayley was very proud of herself!

Jake and his girlfriend, I mean, cousin, Hayley. (sorry Uncle Cecil Ray!)
"Did somebody tell Uncle Cecil Ray that I got kisses from both girls???"
Jake playing his new game, "I see you!"

Hayley was happy to get a turn in the big swing.
Jake, just chillin'
I'm not sure what Hannah is thinking, but she sure looks cute.
"Girls, are you done swinging yet?"
Doesn't Stephen look good with little girls playing in our yard? :)
Cutie pie, Hayley!
Hannah showed off her climbing skills some more.

The next morning, the Tylers, Wicherts, and Cosseys, all met for breakfast. It's always fun to see the hostesses face when we say we need seats for 6 adults and 3 high chairs...next time we are all together that will increase to 6 adults and 5 high chairs! We can't wait for Kacie and Sarah Beth to be here! After we left breakfast, the kids stopped and started playing in the doorway of one of the little shops. I didn't have my camera, but snapped a few cute pics on my cell phone.

If You Give A Jake A Cupcake

This past weekend, I helped to host two baby showers...and that meant extra cupcakes around the Tyler house. I really didn't think Jake would be very into them, he likes cake the few times he has had some, but at his 1 year birthday party, he barely touched his own cake.

Well, at some point over the past 7 months, something has changed his mind because my boy now LOVES him some cupcakes! He came home and saw them and started saying, "cuh-cake, cuh-cake!" I didn't even know he knew that word! I put him in his booster seat and he polished off almost 2 whole cupcakes....and in the process covered himself in cake and icing!
