4th of July....a month later :)

I'm almost a month late with my 4th of July post, but I think that's pretty good with a baby in the house! For the 4th, we continued our tradition of celebrating with the McKinney and Wichert families.  Heather and Chad invited everyone over for some backyard fun and then fireworks.

 Cody fell asleep in my lap shortly after we got there, so Stephen went to work taking pictures of the kiddos playing.  They sure have fun together!

 This year the girls had a very smart idea of ordering food instead of everyone stressing about cooking.  We called in an order to Dickie's BBQ and it was SO nice to just enjoy the food, definitely the way to go with so many littles this year!  The kiddos were ready for fireworks and it was still hours before dark.  Chad had a brilliant idea to play youtube videos of firework displays on the TV, genius!  They were mesmerized and highly entertaining to watch.

While the rest of the crew got ready to go find a good place to watch the fireworks, Cody and I headed home for bed.  Fireworks are one of my favorite things, but I knew Cody would never make it without melting down, so this Mama had to miss out this year :(
