One thing that I haven't mentioned recently is that it is basketball season in the Tyler house...or bah-bah ball as Jake would say. Stephen is the 9th grade B team basketball coach, so every Monday and Friday you can find us in the gym at Jasper High School. Jake absolutely LOVES watching the games and would love to join the game if I let him out of my lap!
Since Stephen has 2 games a week, Jake and I usually get to the school about 45 minutes before game time so that they can spend some time together. Jake loves to play with the balls and 'shoot' baskets with the team before the game. All of the players are really sweet to him and extra careful with him on the court.
Turning on the pre-game music

And we're off

tries to keep Jake off to the side and away from the action

And Jake is okay with this...

...for a few minutes anyways.

Then somehow, the ball always makes it's way closer and closer to the bigger boys.

"Some day I'm gonna dunk!"

Most of the time this is what happens...Jake runs from Daddy in an attempt to play ball with the team.

I'm just 'chasing' the ball Daddy, geez!

And inevitably, we find some high school girls to flirt with...have I mentioned what a HUGE flirt my child has become???

Sometimes we like to pretend the bleachers are a 'basket' and Jake throws the ball up as far as he can.

Running after the ball.

He got it!

This would be Jake getting carried away from the team, kicking the whole way :)

Jake has also learned several new 'tricks' during the season. He loves to say "Go Jags!" Jake absolutely loves one of the player's moms...Mrs. C and once he eats his dinner they go off and play for most of the game. (It's a nice break for mommy!) She has taught him to say 'chop-chop!' and also to give 'knucks.' He is too cute when he does this! She is working on getting him to say 'cool man' while giving the thumbs up.

Stephen,
trying to keep Jake away from the team

I love this one! He is in full break away mode...he got away from Daddy and is headed toward the boys!

Darn, Daddy caught up!

"Try and get passed me!"

Here are a couple of videos I got as well.
Our season is going pretty well so far, the boys have only lost 4 games...and they started playing back in November. The district tournament is in 3 weeks so hopefully they do well! Go Jags, and as Jake would say, 'chop chop boys!'
