Soccer Season is here!

It is officially soccer season in the Tyler house.  No, not for Jake...Plano West JV soccer.  Yes, Stephen coaches 2 sport, football is just definitely our favorite :)  Soccer tryouts before football season is even over.  The heart of the season kicks in at the start of January with tournaments every weekend and the official season begins in February.  Soccer is not as busy for us as football, aside from the tournaments, Stephen is home on the weekends and home earlier in the evening.  Well, if 6:30 is early :)  The hardest parts about soccer is that they practice before school, so Stephen leaves our house by 6:30 each morning.  This means I have to get Jake and I both ready for school as a single parent.  It's not too hard, but some mornings my sweet boy really misses his Daddy.  The other not so fun part about soccer is that the weather isn't the best for going and watching games...especially this season when I am 8 1/2 months pregnant :)  And yes, Cody will be arriving smack in the middle of soccer season.  It's going to be interesting to say the least.

These pics are from the JV soccer tournament 2 weeks ago in Mesquite.  Jake had actually been sick the day before (allergies/asthma.)  The weather was gorgeous, he was feeling much better, and he was hyped up on steroids so we were NOT going to be staying home!

The boys lined up for the National Anthem (this was the championship game)
And my little steroid man spent most of the game doing this....

Love this pic with the sign for Hanby Stadium in the background.  The tournament was at Mesquite HS, where I taught for 9 yrs and coached cheer for 4 yrs.  I have lots and lots of wonderful memories at Hanby and love seeing Jake run all over having fun!
The boys won the game easily,4-0.  Stephen is in the middle of the huddle giving a victory speech :)
This big cheer isn't because they won, it's because Stephen told them they would be stopping for slurpees on the way home!

Jake thought the trophy was awesome!  Since it was the weekend, Stephen brought it home...big mistake.  Jake got out his little soccer trophy and played 'trophies' all weekend.  He was highly upset when Stephen told him it had to go to school with him!
