Chicago- End of Day 5 and Flight Home

After our very busy last day in Chicago, Jake spent the evening playing with Grammy and Mamaw.
He loved the rocking horse and taught himself how to climb on and off by himself
Trying to get into things he shoudn't!

Jake now knows that shoes go on your feet. He likes to try to put on his own shoes or put shoes on other people. For a long time he called shoes, 'woof woofs' but now he calls them 'hammahs,' it sounds like he is saying hammer :)
Dumping all the blocks out...
...and putting them back in.
Then Grammy gave Jake a special treat, he got to try animal crackers for the first time.
They were a hit!

Lovin' from Mamaw

Here are some videos of Jake playing with Mamaw

We got up Wednesday morning and headed to the airport first thing. It was raining, but we were hoping our flight would still be on time...more on that later.

Mom, Mamaw, Jake, and me
Even though our flight was 'on time' when I called to check as we were leaving...it of course was rather delayed because of the rain. We spent an hour gate-hoping as our flight was delayed more and more and changed gates several times. Jake did really well though. He was having fun watching all the 'cars' outside.
The men working outside kept waving up to Jake in the window...he was loving it!
Eventually, we boarded the plane...an hour and half delayed. We were stressed for a few minutes because at first they told us there weren't seats for us together, but thankfully it all got worked out. Our only fear was that now we would be on the plane right at naptime, I had my fingers crossed super tight!
Jake set out exploring right away, checking out the windows and tray tables
We fed Jake lunch during take off, put on his Elmo dvd...and 15 minutes later, this was our little guy, fast asleep! He slept the entire rest of the flight, slept through the landing, and the deboarding of the plane. We were in the very last row of the plane, so we were sitting for a while. He did so good on both flights, we were so proud of him!

And now we are back home in Texas, days away from the start of another football season for the Tyler Family!
