Wednesday, Jake and I went on our first road trip, along with my bff, Seana. Stephen has two-a-days this week, so I thought it would be the perfect time for us to go visit our other bff, Misty, in Louisiana! We waited until naptime and hit the road. Jake did great, he slept almost all the way and when he did wake up, he kept Seana and I entertained by calling out every car, 'cah!' and tree, 'teee!' that he saw.
When we got to Misty's house, Hannah and Hayley were still down for their nap. (Remember, the twins are one week younger than Jake) Shortly after we arrived, Ms. Hannah woke up and she and Jake played a game of swap the sippies.

Then Ms. Hayley got up and Jake promptly took her sippy too, poor Hayley! At least I got lots of great shots of Jake with pink sippies all weekend :)

Jake was very excited to see Rex and Roscoe, who he called 'good girls' all weekend.

Misty and I weren't able to make it to either of the kids' 1st birthday parites, so next it was birthday present time. Here's little Hayley carrying the big present to Jake.

Hannah and Hayley were quick to open their gift...Jake was more interested in the snacks!

The girls decided to open Jake's present for him...again, he is too busy with his veggie puffs.

Jake, look, a cool new guitar! Inside, he's really very excited! Thank you Aunt Misty and Uncle Cecil Ray!

Jake thought Roscoe looked hungry, so he passed him the toy ear of corn.
Now, when it came time for bed, I had my fingers crossed tight! Remember, Jake wanted nothing to do with bath or bed while we were in Chicago. He must have really loved Aunt Misty's house because he slept great and had fun taking a bath with his 'cousins.'

It was fun watching the kids play together. We decided that Hannah and Jake are definitely going to be the trouble makers and Hayley is going to be the good one who comes and tell us what they are doing! We don't know what Jake and Hannah were planning to do with the rocking chair, but they were 'talking' to each other about it for about 5 minutes.

'Jake, pick it up and I'll tell you what to do with it.'

'Aunt Dani, we aren't doing anything...just standing here looking cute!'

Finally, a picture where the kids have their own sippies!

Now, this is Ms. Hayley and she has the cutest face in the world! When she is happy and excited it shows all over her sweet face!

Here is my son, after having taken both of the girls' sippies!
Hayley :)

Jake, loved the curtains. He would hide his face and then turn and yell, 'Boo!'

Once we got all the kids dressed, we attempted to take a group picture...as we have tried many times before, and never gotten one! Well, with 3 toddlers, it was rought, but these were as close as we got.

Once everyone was up and dressed, we headed to the Boardwalk, to do a little shopping. Poor Jake, had to spend the morning shopping with the girls! He was a trooper!

We decided to take the kids on the carousel, fun!
Hannah wasn't so sure about it all once the ride started, so she and Mama moved to a calmer seat.
Unfortunately, after lunch we were on our way back to Texas! It was a short trip, but so much fun!
Jake with Aunt Misty before we left.

We left at naptime for the ride home, but Jake must have been super excited about coming home because he stayed awake most of the way. Thank goodness for Elmo and portable dvd players!
