Cody 5 months old

Cody is 5 months old!  Okay, he is two days away from 6 months old as I type this...can you tell football has started, both boys have been sick, school started, and again it's football :)  It's been just a little crazy 'round here!  I've got a ton to catch up on, so here we go...

Here are the pictures from Cody's 5 month birthday.

Here are the notes I've made over this past month:

-He is still a BIG boy.  He is in size 3 diapers and size 12M clothes!
-Over the past month he has stopped nursing completely and is on formula full time
-He still isn't rolling, but he can backward scoot several feet
-He is beginning to show a preference for specific toys/books
-We started solid foods!  He has cereal at breakfast and dinner times.  He is a pretty messy eater and likes to sneak his hands in his mouth after each bite.
-His bottom two teeth are still just under the gums.  I can see the buds, but they don't seem to be bother him very much.
-His hair is getting lighter and lighter each day, he is super blonde just after bathtime.
-He definitely recognizes his Daddy and gets the biggest smile when Stephen comes home at night.
-In true second child fashion, he has a 'routine' more than a set schedule.  He wakes up between 6:30-7:00 and falls asleep between 8:30-9:00.  He is still waking up at least once at night to eat, sometimes twice, but not a set time.  It can be midnight one night, 3:00 the next.
-He still is not a fan of being rocked to sleep, I've got the bounce-walk down!  And he still hates to be swaddled or covered with a blanket.  When he wakes up in the morning, he has turned completely upside down from where we put him down.
-He will start his bottle reclined in my lap, but after a few minutes he wants to eat sitting up.
-We went on our second vacation to the beach, post coming later.  He did great!
-He had his first cold :(  Both boys got sick after vacation.  He had a VERY stuffy/runny nose and cough.  He never had a fever, but the runny nose was just awful because he is too little for any medicine.  We used a lot of essential oils, the nose frieda, and just had to wait it out.  It was a tough few days, but thankfully it didn't turn into anything serious.
-He likes books and to 'help' turn the pages, but mostly he likes to chew on the pages!
-We have been using the ErgoBaby carrier more and he is happy to be in it while we grocery shop or when we are out and about.  He will even fall asleep in it!
-He can pass toys from hand to hand
-He is doing HUGE push ups during tummy time
